News on the Orams Case
The much
anticipated London Court hearing for Mr & Mrs Orams have issued
their final verdict which found in total favour of the TRNC
residents.
The ongoing case
has witnessed many twists and turns not to mention the over zealous
Greek Cypriot press statements and propaganda which in the end bore
no assistance to their case.
We are
pleased to say that the judgment made by London's high court in
September says that under protocol
10 of the EU accession for the republic of
Cyprus, the Greek Cypriot government has no legal jurisdiction
regarding any issues within the boundaries of the Turkish Republic
of Northern Cyprus.
The statement
also concurred that any foreign purchaser that successfully invests
within the perimeter of the TRNC government property laws cannot
rightfully have any enforceable charges or claims regarding the
title at any time in the future either in the TRNC or on any of
their UK assets.
Following the
successful judgement, we are now anticipating a major upswing in the
market within the next 12 months.
Many people have
been waiting for the outcome of this case before investing here and
we now foresee that due to the reinstated confidence this will now
bring to potential buyers, we should start to see a definite
increase in buyers and eventually in prices.
Although Greek
Cypriot Lawyer Constantis Candounas has lodged an appeal against the
courts decision, the head of the legal team representing Linda and
David Orams is confident that ‘nothing new’ has been added and
citied that the case was never about David and Linda Orams, but
about stopping the economic growth of Northern Cyprus. |
